Blockchain, fad or forever? While we don’t know the answer yet, over 300 people gathered to swap ideas on this topic with the original $10 tickets selling for over $250 at kickoff for the single day event!
Jeffrey A Tucker (@JeffreyATucker) kicked off with a discussion about the history of money and the foundation for value. #Blockchain has manifested itself first in the form on currencies as digital assets, but there is much volatility around it today and many cyber threats posing risk against it. Are you still with me?
Paul Sztcorc (aka @Truthcoin) covered the alphabet of the technical side of #Blockchain. Bitcoin (BTC), Alt-chain, Side-chain, Drivechain, Blockspace, Scalability vs. Decentralization, Cross-chain swaps, Counterparty, Colored coins, Lightening Network, and more. Are you still with me?
Wayne Vaughan (@WayneVaughan) evangelized the need for a global proof engine which removes the ambiguity of ownership, identity and authentication. Key attributes of the model discussed include scalability, open standards, randomization, time attribution, and some fancy chains of digital values (hashes of data). He applied the model to real world needs including industrial medical equipment, auditing healthcare processes, and verifiable medical records and data. Are you still with me?
There were many other sessions including a Women in Blockchain panel, impacts on taxation and market speculation. There’s a lot to learn in this spaces by all given we’re blazing new ground globally.
Until next time..
